The Baroque Kuks Castle is located on the right bank of the Labe River and was built at the beginning of the 18th century according to the project of the Italian architect Giovanni Battista Alliprandi. The castle consisted of two parts - the hospital with the Church of the Holy Trinity and the second part with the second oldest pharmacy in Bohemia and Moravia.Both parts are accessible during the tour and are very beautiful, the area has recently been costly reconstructed. I highly recommend the tour, which is also available in English. The tour lasts one hour and includes a visit to the lapidarium, where the original statues of the virtues and vices by Matthias Braun are kept.Today, the premises also house the Czech Pharmaceutical Museum, a department of Charles University, and the Czech Wine Bank is located in the cellars.The place - the village of Kuks - is extremely picturesque. The view from the village to the castle and from the castle to the village - the former spa - is breathtaking.

Kuks is the known must to visit for anybody interesting in baroque. But the close to - 1 and half hour walk - Braun statues in forest are must too. Amazing, stunning. Bethelem is something you want to see, too.

As a non-Czech speaker you get a laminated booklet with information in your own language. You use it while you follow the Czech spoken tour.For me that was just fine. It's just that the tour itself was just not as interesting or as long (in terms of length of walk) as I'd expected it to be. Well, not for the money you pay for it anyway. Add the parking fee to it and it's just too expensive. Happy to have seen it, mind you, and the cashier and guide were very friendly, but I might not to do it again. I feel that for the money the visit to the crypt should be included.The hospital building is impressive from the outside and certainly worth seeing.

Great baroque architecture, beautiful courtyard and landscaped garden for herbs and flower. Routes are inexpensive - special mention is the old apothecary guided tour.Perfect for family trip. Good in house restaurant. Also kore options in the village.Overall amazing landscape with facilities.Recommend day trip from Prague / Hradec Kr/ Nymburck

very nice and well maintained castle accestible main square and beutifull gardens. certainly worth the detour. also the views on the castle during trip from parking are spectacular.

Great place! Its good for a walk and sightseeing. Beautyfull interiors, statues and garden. You have to see the pharmacy!

Recently refurbished and looking great! Also they provide many of tours inside the castle or you can visit the herbal garden with its shop. We really enjoyed just a walk around the property.

A surprising spot, filled with great sculptures, perfect for sightseeing and photos. Highly recommended
